Planning a Perth winter wedding at Buckland Estate during COVID-19 isn’t easy, but Caitlin and Eric pulled off a moody and beautiful celebration about 1.5 hours from Perth. During our pre-wedding chats, I learned that Caitlin and Eric’s love story began six years ago. They connected over their shared sense of humour on their first restaurant date. That’s why it was so fitting that their wedding day was filled with joy, laughter, and love — the same emotions that had brought them together.
The Big Day at Buckland Estate
Caitlin and Eric wanted to capture every moment of their big day at Buckland Estate. After discussing what mattered most to them, they chose the Moments by Naz wedding package for 8 hours of coverage — from the early morning bridal prep to the final dance of the night.
Morning Preparations at Their Perth Winter Wedding
The day started early, and being there from the beginning meant we could capture every meaningful detail without feeling rushed. Caitlin’s dress hung elegantly in the soft winter light, and the sound of champagne glasses clinking with excited bridesmaids set the perfect tone for the day.
A Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony in Winter
The ceremony was intimate yet lively, surrounded by close friends and family. Neat rows of chairs lined the lawn, and guests stayed warm with spiced hot chocolate. One of the most memorable moments was Caitlin and Eric’s playful COVID-safe elbow tap after their vows — a sweet reminder of the times and a moment that had everyone laughing.
Capturing the Cosy Winter Vibes
Winter weddings can be tricky with softer colour palettes, but Caitlin and Eric embraced them beautifully. The natural, moody light added to the romantic atmosphere. Caitlin and her bridesmaids looked stunning in Mode and Affaire fur coats, and Caitlin’s white dress from Dion for Brides paired perfectly with lustrous pearls from Willie Creek.
Perfect Perth Wedding Venue in the Avon Valley
Over 120 guests gathered at Buckland Estate in the Avon Valley. The Victorian Georgian manor provided a breathtaking backdrop. The day flowed seamlessly with the ceremony, reception, and preparation in one location. The weather stayed clear, making the outdoor reception under the winter sky even more magical.
